MtroShrink is a new URL shortening service created by my good friend Oliver Whysall. What makes this URL shortening service different from there rest of them is the ability to generate a QR code for your shortened URL as well as a “mtro.es/link” style shortened URL that you’d expect from a shortening service.
It’s currently in beta at the moment but it’s already got a great bunch of features such as; the QR code generation mentioned above, the ability to password protect your shortened link, set an expiry of your shortened URL, set a specific amount of uses, and also add a custom name!
For the moment all of the stats are public, but Oliver has informed me that he’s working on setting up a private account feature with personal stats and saved links that should become available soon.
For all those developers out there, MtroShrink hasn’t forgotten about you, there’s an entire API page full of the necessary bits of code for things like forms for web pages for example and other developery type things!
Check out mtro.es for yourself and let me know what you think in the comments below!
