With only 28 days until the Eurogamer Expo things are starting to come together quite nicely! Over the past few days a bunch more games and developer sessions have been announced and some of which are exclusive first hands on experiences ever!
First things first we’ll go for games.
Bethesda Softworks will be throwing both Doom BFG Edition and Dishonoured onto the show floor for attendees to get their hands on for the first time. Doom BFG Edition will be available throughout Europe on October 19th and features Doom 3 plus the Resurrection of Evil add-on that have both been completely remastered and will also bring a couple of new levels too. Doom and Doom 2 also come in the package to make it pretty freaking awesome. Dishonoured, the second game to be revealed on the show floor is a new FPS developed by Arkane Studios where players take on the role of Corvo, “a supernatural assassin driven by rage”, Dishonoured will be released on October 12.
Next on the horizon is HALO 4, we’re all pretty familiar with the announcement of the upcoming release but gamers at the expo this year will be able to experience for the first time ever the “Halo Infinity Multiplayer” experience through the competitive multiplayer modes of War Games.
Now to the developer sessions.
To kick it all off on Thursday at noon there will be a developer session by 343 Industries about, well, you guessed it, HALO 4;
“We were looking around for a big video game icon to open the show and they don’t get much bigger than the Master Chief,” said Tom Bramwell, Eurogamer Operations Director. “The Master Chief is more than a video game star – he’s a pop culture icon – and we can’t wait to see what 343 Industries has in store for us.”
Next on the list is 22 Cans and Peter Molyneux (ex Microsoft developer) presenting his Curiosity: What’s Inside The Cube and Cooperation apps and take questions from the audience in an extended session on Sunday 30th at 11.30am.
Devil May Cry were mentioned in my first Eurogamer Expo post, but a few days ago it was announced that Ninja Theory design chief Tameem Antoniades and Capcom’s Alex Jones will be on stage at 3.30pm on Sunday 30th September in developer sessions as well as Devil May Cry being available throughout the Expo on the show floor. In addition to DmC, Capcom will also be revealing Remember Me live on stage at 2pm on Saturday by DONTNOD creative director Jean Max-Morris and Capcom senior producer Matt Hart. Remember Me takes on an Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind feel with the game featuring an elite memory hunter named Nilin, who is able to break into people’s minds and steal or even change their memories. Both of these games aren’t available until way into 2013 but attendees will be able to get a glimpse and hear a lot about these two awesome games.
The Eurogamer Expo begins on Thursday the 27th of October until Sunday the 30th at Earls Court, London.
