Joymax, a leading online game manufacturer known best for it’s games Silkroad Online and Digimon Masters announced on the 24th that they’ll be ending their closed beta of Knight Age on the 28th of August and will be opening the beta to the public.
Knight Age online features a new style of game play where players battle predominantly on a series of different mounts along with pets named “Pupa”. Players can train and raise both their mounts and Pupa to create their ultimate battle companions.
After a month of being in closed beta, Knight Age ran a Facebook survey for players involved in said beta could vote on what their favourite features were. The results have now been counted and the following fan favourites will be a part of the open beta starting today.
What came in top of the polls was the Mounts feature. Much like any other MMORPG players earn stats to increase certain attributes associated with their chosen characters, in Knight Age that’s not the case. Battles are mainly fought on mounts, which the player must raise and strengthened with skills to benefit theirs tastes. Ranging from quacking ducks to fierce tigers, the newly added mounts for the Open Beta Test will open up even more choices!
Second in the polls was the Pupa. Like with World of Warcraft for example, you can adopt a pet to help you in battle, in Knight Age the concept is pretty much the same but with the option for players to collect and combine certain Pupa’s to create the ultimate pet.
In third was the unique combat style. As mentioned frequently above, combat takes place upon a mount, with your trusty pet (or Pupa) by your side. This type of combat requires players to use skill and strategy to maneuver through the difficult terrain to attack enemies. This also applies to the PvP part of the game, which is a new addition to the open beta. Knight Age will feature a 1 vs. 100 PVP that centers on battling for the famous sword Excallibur.
The open beta has another new player feature and that’s the Order of Knights, which is a new guild mode where players focus on building and managing a guild known as “Order of Knights”. This is a great feature that if done correctly could amount up to a 50 vs. 50 guild battle.
Last but by no means least is the Dungeons, the final feature to be raved about on the Facebook survey. These sets of randomly generated dungeons will test the players strategy and skills during monster battles as well as traps and puzzles that players will come accross while exploring these vast dungeons, not to mention the dungeons boss at the end! Once the bosses are defeated there’s also a chance that the boss will drop a rare Pupa egg that’ll be like none ever seen before!
Upon the launch of the open beta tomorrow, Knights Age will be holding a series of 17 events that have both in game and real life prizes such as a brand new laptop and iTunes Vouchers!
Players who participated in the closed beta will have to update their client, but if you’re new to Knight Age and you want to get in on the action, you can sign up and download the client over at their site http://www.joymax.com/knightage
