With just 13 days to go here’s a super packed update full of news about the Eurogamer Expo held at Londons Earls Court.
Since the last update a huge collection of games available to play on the show floor has been announced as well as a fair few developer sessions that shouldn’t be missed.
First of all I’ll write about the game I’m most excited to get hands on experience with at the Expo and that’s Black Ops 2! Throughout the Expo the multiplayer of the next anticipated title from Treyarch – Black Ops 2 will be available for attendees to get a chance to play this title. I’m super excited for this as I’m a big Call of Duty nerd, specifically the Black Ops series! Eurogamer Events Director David Lilley had this to say about Black Ops 2 at the Expo.
Treyarch’s innovative approach to multiplayer and emphasis in eSports stands to make this year’s Eurogamer Expo incredibly exciting and one fans won’t want to miss.
From here we’ll go onto the next hand full of games that have been recently announced.
Sega have announced a line up of three games that’ll be coming to the Eurogamer Expo this year and they are Aliens: Colonial Marines, The Cave, and Hell Yeah! They’ll able be playable on the show floor and will feature the Aliens: Colonial Marines competitive multiplayer mode – Escape, as well as the co-op features of The Cave and some single player content from Hell Yeah!
Another great title – this time from Crytek is Warface, and will be playable for the first time at this years Expo on 20 PC’s that’ll showcase the PvE and PvP missions. Not only that “The development team will be on hand throughout the show, which runs from 27th-30th September at Earls Court, encouraging sign-ups to the Warface beta and giving away free goodies to attendees.” So if you’re attending and you’re a PC gamer, keep an eye out for that!
Racing fan’s wont be left out this year at the Expo with F1 2012 and F1 Race Stars, both of which will be playable on the show floor. Not to attract too much attention, Codemasters will be bringing along a real life Sahara Force India FORMULA ONE™ car to the show floor for attendees to check out. That shouldn’t be too hard to miss.
Along with the above great titles, the site has been updated with the following game’s that’ll be available on the show floor;
AirBuccaneers, Borderlands 2, Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, Dead or Alive 5, Dream, DV8, Far Cry 3, Fluid Football, Guns of Icarus, Hotline Miami, Hypoxia, Luftrausers, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Natural Selection 2, Prison Architect, Serious Sam 3: BFE, Sniper Elite V2, Strike Suit Zero, XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
Along with some really great popular titles, the Eurogamer Expo will be hosting an Indie Games Arcade where attendees can get a first look at some soon to be great titles on all platforms by some great indie developers. Not only that they’ve announced that Rezzed a popular PC and Indie Games Show that took place in Brighton earlier in the year will be making an appearance throughout the Eurogamer Expo and will feature a whole host of games and top independent titles like Hotline Miami and Prison Architect mentioned above. Along with the two games just mentioned, attendees will get the chance to play other top indie titles such as Natural Selection 2, Guns of Icarus, Strike Suit Zero, and Carrier Command: Gaea Mission and all this will be sponsored by SEGA.
Now to the Developer Sessions.
The first session I’m going to write about is on both Friday 28th and Sunday 30th is titled “How to give yourself a job in the game industry” and the session will be hosted by Chet Faliszek from Valve. The session will include the many options and paths that are currently available on finding a job in the gaming industry and is aimed at not just hopeful professionals, but the entire gaming community.
Next on the agenda is a developer session hosted by Dean “Rocket” Hall from Bohemia Interactive and he’ll be talking about the new stand alone version of the DayZ mod (that’ll also be available to play on the show floor). He’ll be taking questions about the transition from an ArmA II Combined Operations modification to a fully fledged stand-alone version of the game.
Hitman: Absolition developers IO Interactive will be doing a developer session on Thursday 27th and will be talking about a new game mode called Contracts, that was recently announced at Gamescom. Hitman: Absolition will also be available to play on the show floor.
Crystal Dynamics, developers of the ever popular Tomb Raider series will be hosing an hour long session on Sunday 30th and will be talking through the Crossroads demo. Attendees will be able to see a huge chunk of the game before it’s release at the end of March next year. If you’re not all gamed out by then, be sure to stop by and take a look!
