It’s going to be bigger, thinner and better than ever before, apparently.. But it will be revealed soon many sources have confirmed. Apple will be holding the press event at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater just like they did earlier this year with the iPad and the event is set to begin at 10 am PDT (San Francisco time) or 5pm BST (UK time).
The rumours haven’t been 100% confirmed by Apple that this event will present the most anticipated and rumoured iPhone yet, but with the invite header (above) displaying a gradient ‘5’ it’s what we’re all expecting.
According to a report by CNET:
The date confirms a report from blog iMore in late July that Apple would hold its iPhone event on September 12. The other half of that report said the device would go on sale nine days later on Friday, September 21.
This could mean that in just over two weeks, we could have our hands on a swanky new iPhone 5.
Apple may have opted for a larger 4 in screen (even though Jobs claimed to have reached the “sweet spot” with the current 3.5 in screen) and also decided to vamp up the battery a bunch too. You may also have noticed that the iPhone 5 is slightly thinner than the 4S pictured as well as appearing to have scrapped the original 30-pin connector found on almost every iOS device.
It’s also been rumoured that it’ll finally be compatible with LTE and 4G networks – about time.
The iPhone 5 pictured isn’t a working model due to the the logic board and several other components missing, but it gives us a good idea at what it may look like complete.
But after all this speculation and rumour it could be just that, a rumour.
