Video gaming is all about community. We all play games, talk about games, and share ideas about games. LA Game Space is a non profit center for video game art, design, and research. It is a place for game innovation, education, a d exhibition; where all of us can play and make and study and showcase games.
It‘s not all exclusive to residents of LA; LA Game Space is all about the ‘Global Conversation‘ and will be offering Remote Participation for their live streaming workshops and presentations via an online moderator and all events will be available to watch online for free and available to watch for a long time afterwards.
“Okay, so what about the games?”
Well, LA Game Space doesn’t actually exist – yet. The organisers are currently holding a Kickstarter campaign to raise $250,000 to make the LA Games Space happen and as an added incentive those who pledge $15 or more will get their hands on 30 new games some of which are exclusive to the Kickstarter campaign.
Those who pledge $5 can expect to receive a brand new exclusive game by Keita Takahashi the creator of Katamari Demacy that’ll be available on PC, Mac, and Linux.
Those who pledge $15 will receive the above plus 29 other brand new games donated from well known developers (specifically for this campaign) such as Pen Ward (Adventure Time) + Bennett Foddy (QWOP), Cactus (Hotline Miami), Steve Swink (Scale), Santa Ragione (Fotonica), Ben Esposito (Unfinished Swan), Plateau of the Galaxy Mark Essen (Nidhogg, Flywrench) + Chris Osborn (Bit.trip Series) and many many more – All of which can be found on the Kickstarter page.
Along with the above rewards for people who pledge more than $15 there are a whole bunch of other rewards and goodies such as exclusive art work, t-shirts, memberships to LA Game Space, and even a custom pixel portrait from one of a selection of the most talented pixel artists everrrr.
There’s a whole bunch of other information about LA Game Space that I couldn’t possibly list here without turning n3rdabl3 into the actual Kickstarter page!
