The Elder Scrolls Online

Exciting news! Elder Scroll Online are currently taking early beta sign ups!

Yesterday opened up its doors and began to let people sign up to the early beta of Elder Scrolls Online, you’d expect the usual boxes to fill in and they are there, but further down you’ll soon realise that you’re given a small essay to write along with the option to add your entire history of previous MMORPG experience. Along the side you’ll also notice how likely it is that you’ll get invited to the beta – at least they’re honest!

Selected beta registrants will be granted early access to beta test the game. They will be among the first to experience this epic world with others in one of 2013’s most highly-anticipated releases. Exactly when the start of the beta playtests will begin will be provided at a later date to those who register.

elder scrolls onlineThe Elder Scrolls Online plans to bring everyone’s favourite Elder Scrolls experience online for the first time ever! Exciting huh? Using ZeniMax Online’s Megaserver technology players can expect to be thrown into an online world complete with it’s own social network keeping players up to date with their friends list. The Megaserver technology hopes to make The Elder Scrolls Online “one of the most socially enabled games ever created”.

Personally I haven’t played any Elder Scrolls game, but I have wanted to and this seems like a perfect place to start!

I highly recommend playing all of the games. I started at Skyrim and hardly understood any of the lore (which is a huge part of TES). Now I’m worming my way back along the line, now in the process of playing Oblivion. Trust me, they’re beautiful games, if you don’t mind the aged graphics and gameplay of the older games.
