So we heard you like Anime? Well it turns out that developer and publisher Nexon have as well and want to developer a new free to play game based on a hit anime. However, it’s a bit of a shock if I’m honest with the anime in question. Ready for this?
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Yup.
Nexon, known for games like Dragon Nest, Vindictus and Mabinogi, have an agreement with the publishing company Kodansha to create the game. No details on the game other then the fact it’s going to be a Free to play and a MMOFPS. The games will use the award winning series of Stand Alone Complex, Stand Alone Complex: 2nd GIG and the film Solid State Society. This will allow for a wide range of source material and reference points for Nexon to use to developer the game.
Now I’m a big fan and I mean big fan of Ghost in the Shell. So I’m a bit worried about the what the end result of this project could be but I have hope. Nexon have a good track record and with the already well established law of Ghost in the Shell things could turn out well. The MMO side of things is where I’m most worried. However, with such a lack of details at the minute only time will tell if this will be a good result. Here’s hoping it is. In the meantime, I think I’ll re-watch the series and for news on this subject as it comes out, keep checking n3rdabl3.
