In an interview with Engadget Uhrman said that “There will be a new OUYA every year.” the reason behind this she continued “We’ll take advantage of faster, better processors, take advantage of prices falling. So if we can get more than 8GB of Flash in our box, we will”.
Those of you who have pre-ordered the console or are planning on buying it in the future, Uhrman has assured us that games will be backwards compatible with each console. And games that you buy “will be tied to you” much like games purchased on Steam.
I’m not sure if I’m going to get the OUYA when it’s released knowing that there’s going to be a better version only a year down the line. It reminds me a little of Apple and that’s half the reason why I’m not an Apple fanboy any more.
