The reveal arrived just like we knew it would, but instead of just a simple launch trailer, EA and DICE have gone one step further and have released 17 minutes of gameplay footage already and I must say, it looks fantastic. It’s just a shame Rihanna had to ruin it.
Scheduled for release in fall 2013 Battlefield 4 has been titled “a genre-defining action blockbuster” and to celebrate the game’s official announcement EA released a whole bunch of Battlefield 4 goodies on their website such as 3 trailers titled Air, Sea, and Land, and as mentioned in the title a launch trailer and a 17 minute gameplay video. There’s also a handful of hi-res screenshots available!
Battlefield 4 is powered by DICE’s own Frostbite 3 engine and is said to be the best Battlefield yet with aspects of the multiplayer being brought into the single player campaign. The single player mode will now track player’s progress which in turn should add an element of competition to the campaign.
The gameplay trailer begins with a character called Recker making the difficult choice between collecting the intel or saving his comrades as they’re trapped underwater in a sinking car. Shooting the window is the only way out and you’ll see that emotion is certainly present in this gameplay demo.
