We reported yesterday the supposed release date for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag which someone found on the event countdown site just by typing “v” at the end of the URL, and it seems today’s reveal video slip up confirmed it.
The world premier trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was uploaded a little too early onto GamesRadar’s YouTube channel earlier yesterday and revealed the leaked release date of October 29 as well as confirming the maritime Assassin is in fact Edward Kenway as previously rumoured. The video has since been made private as well as the various mirrored video’s uploaded soon after.
The video as you’d expect from a world premier includes everything you hope it would such as cinematic shots of ship battles, pirates, and Blackbeard the pirate narrating the video giving his “honest opinion” on Edward. The video is also full of the trademark assassination moves you’d expect from an Assassin’s Creed game.
Blackbeard goes on to say “You ask me, can this new captain promise you a life of prizes, plunder and adventure? Aye. For amongst all the gentleman of fortune sailing these west indies, he ranks among the most clever. This man is a fearsome dog, a fiend of trouble and turmoil, Fighting like a devil, dressed as a man.”
The video also confirms that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will also be coming to next generation consoles. Whether that’s an indication on the release dates of the next generation Xbox and PlayStation only time will tell, it’d be nice but personally I doubt it.
It seems like Ubisoft might as well cancel their event for tomorrow seeing as almost everything about the game has been leaked, it’d save them some money at least…
