Bethesda and Zenimax, the guys behind The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, have announced a new franchise, The Evil Within.
Developed by Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within is a survival horror game, which promises to bring the perfect blend of horror and action.
Under direction of acclaimed designer and studio head, Shinji Mikami, best known as the father of the survival horror genre and the creator of the Resident Evil franchise.
Additional information on The Evil Within is due to follow on Monday over at IGN.com.
Commenting on the announcement, Mikami mentions “We’re incredibly proud to announce The Evil Within,” said Mikami. “My team and I are committed to creating an exciting new franchise, providing fans the perfect blend of horror and action”.
It’s a surprising announcement at that, but it is definitely exciting. This could be a huge evolutionary step in the history of survival horror with Mikami at the helm. The Evil Within is set to be released in 2014 for PC, current and next gen consoles.
