Injustice: Gods Among Us

From the creators of the Mortal Kombat series comes a new and fresh fighting game with your favourite DC comic book characters. This isn’t the first time that they’ve made  a fighting game with DC characters though. Back in 2008 they made a game called Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe, it was a good game but the fatalities sucked a bit. (And before you ask there are no fatalities in Injustice).

What were my thoughts about this demo? This demo gave me a good insight of what I’m looking for wbatmanhen the actual game comes out. You get the choice of three characters that you can play as in the demo; Batman, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor. I chose Batman because he’s awesome and has the best at hand to hand combat skills. I bet the first thing that you wonder is; “Does it handle like Mortal Kombat (2011)?” Yes it does, but the combat itself feels like it has more weight to it compared to Mortal Kombat which felt a bit floaty. The combat is fast and intense and stages have interactive objects too. For example I was fighting in an alley way somewhere in Gotham City and I could throw huge bins at my opponent.

When you do play this game I would recommend playing it with a decent sound system because the sound design is superb. You can really feel every punch and kick and feel the pressure when your fist connects to your opponents face then you hear the crack of their bones. It’s true to NetherRealm’s fashion of violence, and I love it.

Another positive to this demo is that you can play against a friend but only in local play, but it’s a shame that they didn’t include online play. I can see why that you can’t do Xbox Live Multiplayer, because the servers aren’t ready, but you will have a better time with any fighting game with a group friends and some beers.

This looks good for what’s to come from this game, so give it a go. Injustice: Gods Among Us releases on April 19th for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U. I can’t wait to see what the story mode holds for us because NetherRealm did a great job with the Mortal Kombat story which was epic. I’ll give the full review when we get the game!

Good review. Just a couple of spelling and grammatical errors, but otherwise an ok article.
