As a gamer, I have genre’s that I enjoy more over those of others. Though I take pride in myself for being able to enjoy almost any genre I can’t help but hold my heart close to role playing games (RPGs). Back in February I was given the opportunity to review a little game by the name of Ni No Kuni. This game won me over with it’s fantastic art style, gameplay and a story which I cared about. I gave the game an initial review and moved on as with any student life, I was rather busy. However since then I have found myself jumping back to Ni No Kuni on a regular basis. So why you ask, am I still playing Ni No Kuni?
It goes without saying that I play through a lot of games. Most of which I fail to find the time to finish due to so many reasons. Ni No Kuni however is an exception to this as I find myself pushing a lot of hours into this game each week. Sure, I haven’t finished it yet but with a game this big to explore filled with side quests and more to complete, there is always something to do. Sure, I pointed out in my initial review that there was an issue with some menus and dialogue I’m happy to say that as you progress further into the game this becomes less of a worry. As a matter of fact things just keep getting better and better.
The gameplay continues to develop further as you push through the game and gain new and exciting ways to make your way thorough the world of Ni No Kuni. You’ll find yourself going back and fourth if you want to get the full experience out of the game. Along with the way that the battle mechanics develop as well, your find that each battle gets more engaging as well as intense. There is more then enough in the way of development in this game that the learning curve is easy to get a hang of even in the later stages of the game.
As for the world, characters and story I don’t want to give anything away but believe you me, the more I play Ni No Kuni the more I care. I want to learn everything, every detail and furthermore I want to use this knowledge to help me deal with the world’s problem. In turn, creating a better place. That may all sound odd but when you lose yourself in a game this much you can’t help but care about the finer details.
Ni No Kuni continues to delight me through each encounter and with each, the world developers even more. If there was one thing I wished about Ni No Kuni, it would only be that I had more time to play it and finally reach the conclusion. That in mind I once again say that those of you yet to enjoy the enchanting world of Ni No Kuni give it a go as soon as you can. Even after so many hours of playing it still puts a smile on my face.
