Xbox OneYou’ll be pleased to read that Amazon UK announced on Facebook today that they’ve launched the pre-order pages for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 however you won’t be pleased to read that both consoles are priced at £599.

Along with the actual console pre-orders the Xbox One listing has also made fourteen games available to pre-order too. These games include, NBA Live 14, Madden NFL 14, FIFA 14 Ultimate Team, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Forza 5, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Watch_Dogs, UFC 14, Quantum Break, Battlefield 4, Destiny, Ryse, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and Thief with each game priced at £89.99. The controller is also available to pre-order which is currently priced at £89.99 also.

The same goes for the PlayStaton 4 listing which has sixteen games available to pre-order, also priced at £89.99. These include, Killzone: Shadowfall, Driveclub, Infamous: Second Son, The Witness, Knack, Diablo 3, Destiny, Watch_Dogs, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Thief, Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Agni’s Philosophy, Deep Down, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Again the controller is also listed priced at £89.99

playstation4Amazon have a habit of pricing things quite high initially so when they come to actually selling the items you’ll receive a nice chunk of cash back thanks to the Amazon Price Guarantee which makes Amazon look like a hero. Hopefully though we’ll see the price of the consoles, controllers, and games come down nearer their respective release dates.

Looking at competitor sites such as Game, ShopTo, and BlockBuster no price has been revealed for the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 with Game and Blockbuster only offering £20 deposits. BlockBuster however are offering the Xbox One controller at £49.99 which is a much better price!

Hypothetically if the Amazon prices don’t change would you really pay £599 for either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? Would you pay £89.99 for one game? Leave a comment below!

Edit: A reader has commented letting us know that these prices are just a place marker for when the acctual prices are revealed. This is something I assumed but didn’t write and for that I apologise!

Please don’t hurt me!

Research a bit better. It clearly says for both consoles, all the games, and both controllers that:
“We do not yet have a release date. This is a placeholder only.” and
“Please note that there are no official prices announced for Xbox One/PS4 products. The price stated above is a placeholder.”

This is just so that you can pre-order it now and take advantage of there pre-order price guarantee.

Thanks for that! I’ll amend the post now.
