Due to the continued growing popularity of Android tablets Google have finally gone ahead with putting a ‘designed for tablets’ section in the top charts. This will work across all the different categories and help those tablet users find apps that use all their devices power.
“We’ve been hard at working making consumers find your existing apps, the new Play Store isn’t just about looks, it is about improving discovery of apps, it is about adapting to you.” Chris Yerga, Google Director of Android Engineering.
This follows up the news that there are now 900 million activated Android devices with around 48 billion apps have been installed today. Compared to Apple this is a huge milestone as they only just announced 50 billion app downloads.
