Released last year, Google Play Books came ready with a whole host of books and magazine for users to download, purchase and enjoy. Now with the latest update users will be able to upload their own files.
The update allows users to upload, wait for it, 1,000 PDF and EPUB files. The feature is still rolling out but once live, you’ll be able to upload files through the ‘My Books’ section of the app. Both on mobile and desktop. The good news is that it’s said that any files you upload will be readable on both iOS and Android. Additionally, the update includes stability and performance tweaks, a few changes to the library and confirmation for deleting files.
Of course in true Google fashion. This upload space is totally free. Could this be a move to fight back against Amazon and it’s Kindle’s?
