Following on from the announcement of the Xbox One yesterday a lot of mixed news has started to surface. IGN have reported that Xbox’s UK marketing director Harvey Eagle has said that the Xbox One will need a Kinect in order to function.
“Kinect does require to be connected to Xbox One in all cases, yes,”. Harvey Eagle.
He continues to talk about how the idea of a ‘living room’ screen is simply a moniker and that though the Kinect must be attached, smaller rooms are fine too. The current market release of Kinect doesn’t work well in small spaces, as I’m sure many of you have found out. Take note however that a lot of the features Microsoft showed us of the Xbox One during the event were voice commands and hand gestures. It’s fair to guess that these would have no problem be used in a smaller space then your traditional living room space.
The big question on my mind with this news however is ‘Does the Xbox One come with Kinect?’ to which I hope the answer is yes. Then again, how much is that going to add to the price?
