It’s only been two days since I wrote about YouTubes rumoured plans to launch a paid subscription service and holy smokes it launches today!
The new service will feature 30 content creators including Sesame Street and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, YouTube will be rolling this out further over the next few weeks.
Content creators will be given the option of what country they want their videos available in, how much they charge and if they include adds or not.
You will be able to pay via Google wallet, subscriptions start at 99 cents and will average at $2.99 a month, YouTube have refused to disclose the revenue split but have said that the content creators will bring home the majority of the revenue.
You can read what YouTube said about the launch here on their blog.
