Nordic Games acquires two Atari IP’s

nordic-gamesNordic Games announced today the acquisition of two Atari IP’s; Desperado’s and Silver.

Both games are relatively dated, with Desperados being released in 2001 and 2006. Set in a Wild West setting with stealth-based real time tactics game play and Silver being released in 1999. Silver was originally an action RPG for PC, Dreamcast and MAC. Produced by Infogrames, you play as a young warrior on a quest to save his wife from the villain, Silver.

The purchase of both IP’s comes in a time of financial trouble for Atari. With the company reportedly seeking $22.2 million for it’s library of IP’s, to help with it’s bankruptcy losses.

Both titles are in very good hands with Nordic Games. For those who are unaware of Nordic Games, they brought us some great titles such as, Alan Wake and Painkiller: Hell and Damnation.

The company has also been acquiring other IP’s over the months, acquiring franchises such as Darksiders and Red Faction.
