Recently announced by Square-Enix– the next instalment in the critically-acclaimed Deus Ex series. Deus Ex: The Fall.
Don’t get too excited just yet. Deus Ex: The Fall, taking place after the novel; Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect will only be released on mobile, and tablet platforms. Disappointing, I know, but lets try not to be too hard on it.
In the words of Square-Enix, here’s a short descpription of the game.
DEUS EX: THE FALL is set in 2027– a golden era for science, technology and human augmentation, but also a time of great social divide and global conspiracy. Powerful corporations have seized control from governments and command the drug supply needed by augmented humans to survive. In this chaos Ben Saxon, a former British SAS Mercenary who underwent physical augmentation, is desperate for the truth behind the drug conspiracy. Betrayed by his private military employers, the Tyrants, not only is his own life at risk, but for all augmented humans, time is running out…
Sounds good to me. The game will be a collaboration project between the Square Enix mobile division in Europe; Eidos-Montreal (creators of Human Revolution) , and N-Fusion. The game will be a story-driven action RPG, featuring all the aspects we love from Human Revolution. Stealth, hacking, player decisions/consequences. “The full Deus Ex experience” says Jean-François Dugas, Executive Game Director at Eidos-Montréal.
The first installment of Deus Ex: The Fall will be released this summer on tablets, and mobiles near you for just $6.99.
Despite the fact it is on tablets– I am still pretty pumped for this game. I say we all get along and save our judgement for release .
