Due this August, Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the latest instalment of the Splinter Cell series from Ubisoft. Earlier at E3 Ubisoft showed us an awesome new trailer for the game using the in-game engine, but what most of us are pretty excited about is the return of the multipler mode; Spies vs. Mercs.
In a game mode similar to Crysis 3’s Hunter mode, Spies try and covertly scale the map in order to hack into and steal three different terminals. The mercs however have massive fire power and seem to clearly have the advantage over the spies. I forgot to mention that the spies have special technology which leaves them invisible for a few seconds in order to sneak behind a mercenary in order to hit that fatal blow.
Once a spy ends up hacking a terminal mercs have 90 seconds to discover and eliminate the spy, it’s the most fast paced and intense 90 seconds either team will ever experience. It’s really exciting that the game is coming back in this instalment!
Originally Spies vs. Mercs featured strictly 2 vs. 2 gameplay, but Ubisoft have introduced a new Blacklist mode which features up to 8 players. Pretty freaking exciting.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this August.
