Online retailer Amazon have recently listed Microsoft’s next-gen console, Xbox One, to be released on November 27. As always with these things, it evolved into speculation as to if this is the official release date.
Responding to this, Microsoft told IGN, that this is merely a placeholder date. It’s something which retailers often do to give a specific time frame in which an item may be expected.
Microsoft also went on to say, “We are excited to release the Xbox One in November 2013”, setting a release for the same month.
It does seem odd that this would be a official date anyway, as not only is it a Wednesday (I mean who brings out a console on a Wednesday?) but it is also too late in the month to compete with Sony’s PS4, with the speculated release of November 13th.
All we know is, you can bet on it being here in time for Christmas.
