Us Mirror’s Edge fans were too busy squealing like twelve year old girls at a Justin Beiber concert to actually pay too much attention to the teaser video they were showing which featured clips of Faith getting her trademark tattoos for the first time. It soon came to light that the Mirror’s Edge we were all looking at was a proposed re-boot/prequel to the Mirror’s Edge that we know and love – not that that’s a bad thing.
Recently during an EA analyst call Mirror’s Edge 2 has been described as an “open-world adventure game” and has been placed in the “new & reimagined” category alongside games like Command & Conquer and Star Wars: Battlefront. What this means for Mirror’s Edge 2 is that we should have freedom to explore the huge diverse city we know and love from Mirror’s Edge, something I’m pretty excited for.
Though some may have loved the more linear fast paced feel of the original Mirror’s Edge, I welcome the feature of open world exploration if it’s done right. What are your thoughts?
