This instalment is titled ‘the Humble Bundle with Android 6’ and is not to be confused with the Humble Bundle 6, which has already been and gone. Of course the clue is in the name but this bundle is in partnership with Android, meaning that the package offers mobile gaming as well as the more regular desktop gaming that humble bundles offer.
The games on offer this time around are Aquarua, Fractal: Make Blooms Not War, Organ Trail: Director’s Cut, Stealth Bastard Deluxe and for Android only is bonus game Pulse: Volume One. If you opt to pay more than the average price for the pack, which stands at $4.66 at the time of writing then two more games, Frozen Synapse and Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Director’s Cut, are also unlocked.
As usual with humble bundle packages the games are all cross platform and DRM-free, with this round of games working great on Android as well as Desktop.
Of course the money raised goes to good causes, as is the norm with humble bundle packages, and as always purchasers can choose how their money is split between charity, developers or the geniuses behind the bundle itself.
The Android 6 bundle is getting the typically incredible reaction from the gaming community with almost 100,000 bundles sold within the first day of the offer going live.
Also a normal trend with humble bundles is the massive amount of savings that this gives to the gaming community, with the games having a combined cost of nearly $100 when purchased individually, this package puts the gamer in control of pricing however and lets you pay whatever you like.
We can probably expect a rota of a few new games in the bundle in the next week as well, although this second round of games are normally exclusive to those that have paid above the average, so it is well worth getting the bundle early and paying above the $5 that you would normally pay for one of these great games.
A final reason we’re massive fans of the humble bundle intuitive here at n3rdabl3 towers is the diverse mixture of genres and types of games available, there’s definitely something that will appeal to everyone in there, so you’ve got no excuse to get involved!
In the Android 6 package there is a wide range of genres to whet any gamers’ appetite, from classic text based zombie fun with Organ Trail (as you can imagine from the name the format is based on that golden oldie Oregon Trail) to the mesmeric puzzling styles of Pulse on Android there really is something for everyone.
I know point and click advernture Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Director’s Cut has gained quite a cult following so having that available to portable devices may appeal to some but my personal favourite from this bundle is strategic shooter Frozen Synapse which gets that balance of compelling single player campaign and addictive multiplayer just right.
Still not convinced? Well a couple of extra bits that should be included is that as usual all packages come with separate soundtracks for the games, which is always a nice touch, plus a lot of these games are debuting on certain platforms, so get them while they’re hot off the press.
All in all humble bundle have absolutely smashed it once again and although it is easy to get all caught up in the awesomeness of these games it is important to bear in mind that this is for a great cause which is all the more reason for you to get involved and head over to humblebundle.com and check out the offer for yourself, remember you only have 12 more days to grab these great games at a bargain price and tick your good deed for the day off all at the same time.
Any readers out there already purchased this humble bundle or anyone eagerly waiting payday so they can get involved? I’d love to know what you all think in the comments below.
