Amazon Reach Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Launch Cap

Amazon Reach Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Launch CapOnline retailer Amazon US announced today via their official Facebook page that they have hit the allocated amount given for the next gen consoles.

“After a crazy and exciting month, we’ve sold through our initial allocations of PS4 and Xbox One. Thank you to all who have ordered and shared your opinions. We have the Standard Editions for both consoles still available, but we can’t guarantee these at release. Please check back here as we’ll update you first if we receive further release day allocations.”

Pre-orders were opened for eager beavers on June the 10th, the same day Microsoft held it’s E3 2013 media briefing, Amazon weren’t the only ones with pre-order news, both Best Buy and GameStop have ceased taking orders for the PlayStation 4, they stopped taking pre-orders for the Xbox One back in June.

Bare in mind that this applies to Day One editions, if you’re not overly fussed about receiving either console on the very first day it’s available, standard pre-orders are still being taken, if you opt for that it can be a surprise when your postman shows up with it, you can clap like a seal with excitement, either way you get the exact same console.
