The New Nexus 7 spotted in the UK set for September release.

The New Nexus 7 spotted in the UK set for September release. At Google’s press event yesterday they finally revealed the much rumoured second Nexus 7. The tablet is sticking at 7-inches but this time has a few things under the hood that the 2012 version lacked.

The new Nexus 7 is a thinner and lighter version of Google’s previous Nexus 7 tablet. It’s home to a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 display with 323 ppi, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, and a brand new 5-megapixel camera on the back. It’s home to some brand new insides too with the new Nexus 7 having a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro, Adreno 320 graphics and 2GB RAM. As you might have guessed the new Nexus 7 also comes with Android 4.3 as well as dual stereo speakers with virtual surround sound from Fraunhofer!

There’s more brand new features too such as a new set of multi user setting which includes restricted profiles for kids. There’s also Bluetooth Smart on board, OpenGL ES 3.0 support, and NFC capabilities.

There’s going to be both WiFi and LTE models available with either 16GB or 32GB of memory. Google have said that in North America the new Nexus 7 will arrive on July 30th. Google also said however that they’ll be rolling out the Nexus 7 elsewhere in the “coming weeks” but it’s recently come to light that we might be waiting months as UK retailer Currys and PC World have already listed the new Nexus 7 and have stated that it’ll be available on the 13th of September.

They’ve also added a price to the new tablet with the 16GB model being a little more expensive than the older Nexus 7 at £199 and the 32GB model being priced at £239 – a little pricier compared to the North American price of $229.
