Ah the Modern Warfare franchise, Infinity Ward certainly put a lot of hours into keeping that series alive and though most of us believed it to be finished now they’ve moved on to Call of Duty: Ghosts, there’s a small chance that their might be a fourth title in the Modern Warfare series which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games.
The last game in the sub-series, Modern Warfare 3, was developed by both Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games. Since Modern Warfare 3, Infinity Ward have moved onto Call of Duty: Ghosts but haven’t taken Sledgehammer along for the ride, instead it seems that Sledgehammer might be continuing development on games for the MW series.
The profile description on the LinkedIn profile of Sledgehammer Games Senior VFX Artist Rob Valdivia indicates that they have started on the next Call of Duty – Modern Warfare release.

Please say it ain’t so.. Please! It’ll be interesting to see how Sledgehammer are going to run with the MW title, especially with the “photo real visual effect” but in my opinion, Modern Warfare 3 was the biggest pile of crap that I’ve ever played in my life. Don’t get me wrong I’m a huge Call of Duty fan and I absolutely loved MW and MW2 but MW3 was absolutely terrible. Here’s hoping that Sledgehammer create a much better game than the previous, but in all honesty I’m not sure I’ll be buying it.
Just let it die already!
