State of Decay

State of DecayUndead Labs, the developers of the hugely popular XBLA title State of Decay announced today that the zombie survival game will be making it’s way to the PC by the end of the year.

Undead Labs have announced that State of Decay will be making it’s way in a controller-only version via Steam Early Access but will get full keyboard and mouse support when it officially launches. Essentially the game will be exactly the same as it’s Xbox Live Arcade counterpart but with added textures and higher resolution graphics if your PC permits it.

In more exciting news the games upcoming sandbox mode was also hinted at and summed up by Undead Labs very own Sanya Weathers who wrote on the forums:

“Without going into too much detail (although details are coming within a week), you start in the world, build your community, clean the valley out – and when it runs dry, you can leave with some portion of your community and go to “the next valley.” The next valley is the same map, repopulated with resources…but harder. More zombies. More difficulty. Just…more.”

State of Decay is probably one of my favourite titles on the Xbox Live Arcade along side Special Forces Team X, It’ll be interesting to see how the PC version will develop. No mod tools have been made available for the PC version but Undead don’t really care if you do – apparently.

No date has been announced other than to expect it by the end of the year.
