A few months ago we heard that the famous BlackBerry Messenger, previously a BlackBerry to BlackBerry exclusive messaging service, will be heading to iOS and Android in “the summer”. According to a recent (kinda strange) press release Samsung will be bringing BBM to their Galaxy phones.
In recent news BBM for Android has recently gone into a super closed internal beta at BlackBerry, and according to a press release it’ll be heading to the Samsung’s range of Galaxy devices, and by that I mean: Samsung’s range of Galaxy devices – in Africa.
The press release reads:
Today, Samsung has announced that the upcoming BBM™ app will be available in the Google Play and the Samsung App store soon and available to all SamsungGALAXY smartphone consumers across Africa.
We’re unsure right now if this is a press release intended for African media, or whether it’s a general press release and the app will only be making it’s way to African devices – more on this as it develops.
It’s nice that BBM will be coming to other platforms but will it make any difference and will people actually get the app? Share your thoughts and leave a comment below!
