When Microsoft held their press-only conference at Gamescom last week we all hoped for them to reveal when the Xbox One would actually be released. As you’re probably aware, we heard nothing. According to Kotaku who’s heard from “someone a little closer to the launch” who has revealed that Microsoft may be planning a November 8 release.
According to Kotaku the source works for “a marketing company that handles signage and product placement for retail giant Walmart” and has passed along a little more proof than just a date. They sent along an email from the company conference call that lists all of the midnight openings that the retailer has planned.
As you can see from the email below we have all of the midnight releases scheduled so far this year such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, GTA 5, Battlefield 4, and finally The PlayStation 4.
Whether or not this is a legitimate leak or not remains to be seen. I think it may be genuine however because now Sony have revealed the PlayStation 4 release date Microsoft now have the chance to turn the tables and undercut Sony , similar to what Sony did with the PlayStation 4 price at E3 earlier this year.
More on this as it develops..
