Assassin’s Creed has turned into this great franchise that many people love, albeit many others are now a little tired of it but we’ll go into that another day. Anyway, the franchise will be releasing it’s sixth title later this year and when ever a new game is announced many people ask when will it end?
In a conversation with Eurogamer the director of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Ashraf Ismail has spoken about the end of Assassin’s Creed, and no not the ending of Black Flag. The ending of Assassin’s Creed as a whole franchise. Ismail explained how it all worked over at Ubisoft:
“We have multiple development teams, then we have the brand team that sits on top and is filled with writers and designers concerned with the series’ overall arc,” Ismail explained. “So there is an overall arc, and each iteration has its place inside this.”
So think of it this way, Ubisoft know how they’re going to end it, but it’s when they are going to do it that is still an endless possibility. It’s all about us the fans, if our want for another game dwindles to when it becomes pointless to make another installment Ubisoft already have plans in place to cap the franchise of nicely, probably with minimal questions answered. In true Ubisoft / Assassin’s Creed way.
Ashraf Ismail also touched on Assassin’s Creed 5, stating that Jade Raymond who is part of the team at Ubisoft Toronto working on Splinter Cell: Blacklist, will be returning to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. She was originally part of the Team responsible for Assassin’s Creed all the way back in 2007.
Let me know what you think of the end of Assassin’s Creed, is it something that you think is due or do you want to see the Brotherhood continue forever? As always let me know what you think in the comments below!
