Assassin’s Creed creators Ubisoft recently announced that there will be a new mobile game coming to high end phones and tablets this autumn called Assassin’s Creed Pirates.
Pirates is being developed by Ubisoft Paris and will allow players to engage in full on naval battles, as well as manage the entirety of their ship. They will also be able to “explore a huge map featuring paradise islands, volcanic shores, mangroves and many more gorgeous landscapes.”
The game focuses around Alonzo Batilla as he makes a name for himself during the golden age of piracy. Ubisoft have promised to further explore the interactions between “the Templars and the Assassins as they struggle for supremacy and meet the famed figures of the era: Blackbeard, Bellamy and Hornigold.” The game will also feature vast amounts of side missions, perks, achievements and impressive 3D graphics.
Despite the similarities, Ubisoft have said that the game will be completely separate from the companion app which will interact with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, but they have said that both Pirates and Black Flag share the same 18th century setting. Pirates will not include any scenes set in the present day (for those of you who hated the Animus as much as me, rejoice)!
