Probably my first memory of gaming stems down to playing Lemmings on the Commodore Amiga 500. I was probably around 6 years old and probably didn’t know how to play the game properly but I loved the Lemmings. I even had posters of the damn things. That being said, I’m really pleased to write that a new Lemmings game, Lemmings Touch is coming to the PS Vita!
Over on the PlayStation Blog yesterday one of the co-owners of d3t Ltd, Jamie Campbell, announced that Lemmings Touch is coming to the PS Vita. No release date has been announced yet but Campbell had a fair amount of information on the game.
As the name suggests the game is going to be fairly touch orientated. Following on from the success of Lemmings for PlayStation Mobile, Lemmings Touch keeps the same mechanics as the classic Lemmings game but with a “beautiful touch and swipe interface that is very intuitive and easy to use.”. If you’re unfamiliar with Lemmings these little green haired guys just keep walking and don’t stop. It’s up to you to help them get from one place to the other by assigning roles to certain Lemmings such as one to create a set of stairs, another can dig, another can create a block.
Lemmings Touch takes that simple concept and puts it onto modern hardware adding more traps, more ways to save the Lemmings, and intuitive touch and swipe controls that interact with the environment.
There’s no release date just yet, but watch this space for more information!
