GTA Online: 16 players, not 32.

Rockstar, the creators of the most popular game around right now, GTA V, have confirmed that GTA Online will support 16 players as mentioned before, instead of 32 players that was supposedly leaked earlier in the week.

Initially people believed that GTA Online would support 32 players in a ‘freemode’. Up to 32 players were also rumoured to be supported in Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Races and Cops and Crooks modes.

The rumour began on a simple forum for a popular Xbox website, and Rockstar’s silence at the supposed ‘revelation’ was used as evidence by many hopefuls that the rumour was in fact true. After the tweet revealing what we already knew about GTA Online, those rumours were quickly put to bed.

GTA V has since become the fastest selling video game in the UK ever, exceeding over $1 billion in just 3 days. The launch week sales were 2.4 times greater than the previous installment GTA IV, and surpassed Call of Duty Black Ops, the previous record holder by more than 250,000 copies.

GTA Online will be released on October 1.
