Argos Opens its Doors to eBay Click & Collect.

eBay is a shady place full of sellers who sell a whole host of different items, trinkets, tid bits, and electronics most of which offer delivery for free which is fantastic, unless you work a typical 9-5 job and your postie doesn’t manifest him/herself at your door until mid afternoon leaving that lovely “Sorry we missed you” card. It looks like eBay has an answer to that problem though as it’s planning on launching a Click & Collect service in the UK hopefully by Q4 this year.

Initially launching in the UK “eBay Collection Points” will be popping up throughout Argos, one of the UK’s largest general goods stores but consumers should bear in mind that this is only a trial and so far eBay have at least 50 merchants signed  up to this service which will roll out across 150 stores in the hopes to get more merchant readily available when the service rolls out fully.

It may seem like a good idea to those of us who enjoy purchasing knock-off laptop chargers, phone cases, and other not-so-genuine products but how will this fair for Argos who make money on selling items which can be found on eBay much, much cheaper? Maybe it’ll work, maybe it won’t. But for now I guess it’s good news for those of you who are out when the postman/woman comes-a-knocking.

Oh eBay also threw out another little announcement too which states that that they’ll be bringing over “eBay Now”, its same-day delivery service in a trial specifically for London. No further details were announced for this.
