It’s not like we didn’t see this coming, especially with all of the leaked images, but it’s finally official. HTC have revealed a brand new colour to their HTC One series – Vivid Blue, joining the Black, Silver, and Red devices.
It seems that everyone’s looking to add a splash of colour to their devices, with the vivid range of Nokia Lumia handsets in a variety of different colours, the rumoured iPhone 5C is set to come in various colours, and now HTC – Of course Samsung does have a range of colours to their Galaxy S series’ but they’re less bright and colourful.
In a press-only event surrounding IFA in Berlin this week HTC revealed all on their latest colour for the HTC One and HTC Mini. In terms of release dates for the blue handsets, HTC said that they’ll be coming to “select markets”. More on this as it develops..
That’s not all HTC had to show off today. They the HTC BoomBass to show off, a small cube-like speaker which turns the volume up to 11 compared to the HTC One’s BoomSound speakers. This NFC Bluetooth speaker slides into two, with the top part housing the speaker and subwoofer, and the smaller red draw holding your HTC One in place. Due to it being a Bluetooth speaker you don’t necessarily have to have your HTC in the dock, but you won’t be able to stray too far thanks to the speakers 10 meter range.
Finally HTC revealed their new range of Desire handsets, the Desire 601 (left), and 300. The former of the two is a new mid-range device, and is home to a 4.5-inch qHD LCD display, it runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core CPU at 1.4GHz with 1GB RAM. The latter of the two, the Desire 300 is a pretty low-end device that houses a 4.3-inch WVGA (800×480) screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, dual-core at 1GHz with 512MB RAM.
They’re not the most exciting phones to come from HTC recently, but it shows that they still have the low end of the market in mind and it’s about time their low and mid range spectrum got a refresh.
