Initially spotted by Phone Scoop the FCC have just got their hands on a new device from LG which could be the rumoured Nexus 5. The latest pictures show a clearer look at the LG D820 which could in fact be Google’s next Nexus device.
According to Phone Scoop “LG submitted a “class 2 permissive change” for a variant of Verizon’s LG G2 for “some hardware changes (antenna/PCB adjustments)” to the device.” but the images don’t show the LG G2, it in fact shows something similar to the Nexus device accidentally revealed in Google’s KitKat promotional video.
The current Nexus 4 was actually a variant of LG’s Optimus G so the Nexus 5 could very well be a variant of the LG G2. Unlike the Nexus 4 the one pictured shows a softer matte rubberised back instead of the glass one on the current Nexus device. The camera is also different too offering a larger rounded lens. There’s also another image which suggests that the Nexus 5 will have a removable cover and the option to replace the battery.
Current rumours suggest the Nexus 5 will be home to a 5-inch display, most probably HD, and a Snapdragon 800 processor. This not only makes it larger, but it boosts it’s performance too. Finally rumours also suggest that the Nexus 5 will be revealed along with KitKat in the next few weeks.
More on this as it develops..
