22 Cans’ studio head Peter Molyneux has announced that his new game GODUS will be coming to Steams Early Access and you’ll be able to play it first on September 13th for for $19.99, £14.99 or €18.99 before anyone else – unless they opt for the early access too..
Molyneux himself said he’s “proud and delighted that the beta version GODUS will be available for download on 13th September 2013. For a long time I’ve been excited with how the game is evolving, I already feel there is nothing in the world like GODUS. This is the type of game I have dreamt of making since first getting into the industry; having people play the beta and give us valuable feedback while doing so, makes that dream a reality.”
Similar to games of Molyneux past, in GODUS you’ll be able to lead your civilisation from the stone age right through to the space age, providing you appease the gods of course. Players won’t be able to instruct what their civilisation do, but they’ll be able to adapt the environment in order to give them what they need.
You’ll be able to shape the world and give your little community what they need in order to progress through ages, they’ll at first need to find a place to sleep, something to eat, and reproduce. An introduction to a new age however will change their needs, perhaps they’ll focus more on tools or hunting. It’ll be up to you to help make that happen.
Keep an eye on the GODUS Steam page for when the early access beta opens up (available 13th September, 2013), you will get any subsequent updates plus the finished game completely free.
