iOS has had Plants vs. Zombies 2 for a long time now with the Android version nowhere to be seen. According to a recent article on GiantBomb there’s a reason for that and it’s because Apple paid for the delay – or did they?

The original report stated that during an internal town hall meeting held earlier this week EA revealed that Apple paid for the game to be delayed on Android. “Apple gave us a truckload of money to delay the Android version [of Plants vs Zombies 2],” said Frank Gibeau, head of EA Labels. GiantBomb also confirmed these details with various sources and believe for the details to be legitimate.

But it may not be true, an Apple spokesperson described Giant Bomb’s story as “not true” and said that no money was exchanged. But GiantBomb have reason to believe that money may not have been exchanged but maybe more of a marketing deal and stand by Gibeau’s initial comments.

My thoughts? I also stand by GiantBomb’s report. Since the late Steve Jobs has left Apple Tim Cook (read Crook) has pretty much ruined everything that Apple stood for. From what I’ve read online Jobs wouldn’t be too happy with the way Apple have lost all innovation and have appealed to what’s hot right now – a colourful plastic phone? I’m sure Jobs would have hated that.

Thankfully we finally have a rough release date for Plants vs Zombies 2 which is October, no firm release date has officially announced but October is the month to look out for.
