In an interview with Wired, head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb, has teased that we may see more cameo cross-overs from some Marvel heroes in the series.
He was firm about not turning the show into an ‘Easter Egg farm’, where the references take too much away from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and it’s own plot. That S.H.I.E.L.D are a part of that universe and there will be more to come, but only because they fit into the storyline and not just for the hell of it. With a huge cameo from one of Marvel’s movie characters already, it hit a high note with viewers, giving legitimacy to a show that needed that hint at the world around it.
Loeb has also stated that there are new characters being added every episode and that when the series has run it’s course of 22 episodes, there will be more stories told than every Marvel movie combined.
