Following a news item, covered last week by n3rdabl3 surrounding a title showcase video for PS4, it has been confirmed that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s DLC will remain entirely exclusive on the Sony format.
In the short video, it was discovered that ACIV and Watchdogs had small print, stating that the 60-minute exclusive gameplay was only available for 6 months. This led to questions on whether it would be handed over to Microsoft for publishing on XBL. It seems that this was a small error and that PS3 and 4 gamers won’t have to share the pirate booty with their rivals.
What is not clear, is whether the same courtesy applies to Watchdogs. Sony claimed that both titles would have exclusive, hour-long DLC at E3, so was the mistake a half-blunder or just entirely unfounded? We’ll keep an eye out for more information and let you know.
What is clear is that Assassin’s Creed IV is picking up some fairly decent review scores across the board for current gen, with a Metacritic score of 88 on PS3 and 86 on Xbox 360.
While ACIV will appear at launch for both next gen consoles, Watchdogs has been set back for further development and wont be seen until some time in quarter two of 2014.
