The UK movie and video game rental store has entered into administration for the second time this year after being bought out by Gordon Brothers Europe in January. The company has recently confirmed via Twitter that they unfortunately won’t be honouring Xbox One and PlayStation 4 pre-orders.
It all seemed to be going good for Blockbuster but alas, earlier this afternoon the company announced that once again they’ll be entering into administration. With the news of the administration there’s also word that there would be 32 redundancies at their UK headquarters, but all 264 remaining stores would continue to trade while a buyer was sought.
Since the news it’s also been confirmed by the companies Twitter page that they’ll be cancelling Xbox One and PlayStation 4 pre-orders. We reached out to a contact at Blockbuster who has also confirmed that the company won’t be getting in any next generation consoles “for the foreseeable future” and that a small number of stores could be closing.
@JackInTheBox05 We are sorry that you will be disappointed and that we can’t fulfil any xboxone or PS4 pre-orders at this time.

If you’re effected by this then Blockbuster advice you to go and hash it out in-store to get a refund on the pre-order. If you pre-ordered online the company advice you to “write” to them at BLOCKBUSTER, Harefield Place, The Drive Uxbridge UB10 8AQ.
