Remember that Zombie you smashed with a sledgehammer? His twin brother watched on as you splattered his brother’s brains out, but don’t worry he’s also a zombie so you do the same. Did I forget to mention their living undead cousin saw that? Who also happens to look like the brothers you cut down?

I wouldn’t be surprised that every single zombie that you slaughtered all came from the same family with some impressive genes to them all look alike, I guess the zombification makes the genocide of these family trees would make it excusable.

So what’s the point I’m getting at here? Dead Rising’s Zombies almost all look the same, period. However, with Dead rising 3 around the corner there is also good news for us as well, Dead Rising 3 will never have the same Zombie twice. That’s a pretty big game to talk from Capcom, so how will it be done?

Mike Jones, Capcom producer stated that each piece of the zombie is unique. Here is a quote

It’s all procedural generated: hair styles, clothing, colors, textures and the gore is, too: missing jaws, missing eyes … it’s all totally dynamic. That’s a whole system that we built. We didn’t just model the zombies, we had to model the pieces and the system puts them together.”

But hey, Zombies aren’t the only thing being reworked the environment around you is getting a remake.

You’re looking at more custom work and less reuse, we’re not using the same textures over and over again, nor are we using the same geometry over and again. Every building and every interior in Dead Rising 3 is handmade and handcrafted.”

Well, how about that? A total visual overhaul on both zombies and buildings, I have to admit I’m a little skeptical about it all but I have faith in Capcom. Dead Rising 3 is scheduled for launch along side the Xbox One on November 22.

Do you think they can pull it off? Give your thoughts in the comments section.
