A little spark of hope was triggered yesterday afternoon when Google finally started to send invites out to the press to an event they’re holing on October 24, maybe they’ll be announcing the Nexus 5 finally! Apparently not. The invite reads “Join us for a night out with Google Play. Music, movies, games, and a special performance by Capital Cities” which suggests an event surrounding Google’s Play Store rather than a hardware announcement. Awh Shoot.

The invites leave little in the way of information on what the event will actually about with some news sources doubting that Google will hold an event for their rumoured Google Play refresh which is said to debut on November 21 but at the same time has confirmed that the event won’t be featuring hardware.

If I may throw my ten pence in I’m guessing the event is going to be filled with Google revealing statistics from their Google Play store, perhaps announcing a new type of payment feature, some game announcements, and support from artists? Exclusive releases may also feature in the event too? Maybe from here Google will also announce another event surrounding hardware?

Well, I guess we haven’t got too long to wait to find out what the event really is about. Keep an eye on n3rdabl3 where we’ll be keeping up to date with the goings-on in New York on Thursday 24th.
