Since the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 5 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, PC gamers have been up in arms over the news that Grand Theft Auto won’t be coming to the desktop system. A petition was started which now has over 600,000 signatures to get Rockstar to bring GTA to PC players, with no results, or so we think.
According to sources speaking to Eurogamer.net, the site has reason to believe that the open world game will be heading to PC early next year. According to the site the release of Grand Theft Auto V will repeat the same sort-of release window that Grand Theft Auto IV suffered – an April release for Xbox and PlayStation with a December release for PC.
When Eurogamer approached Rockstar for a statement they were “pointed” to an “”Asked & Answered” session published on the company’s Newswire website in July.”
Both Nvidia and Intel have had a say on the subject with Nvidia’s senior director of investor relations Chris Evenden accidentally spilling the beans by including the game’s title in a conference call which was quickly denied when it was picked up by the press and Intel executive Chris R. Silva has said that “Somebody paid a lot of money to make sure that title was exclusive,” and that “At least with Grand Theft Auto I don’t think it’ll be console exclusive very long.”
What are your thoughts? Do you think that Grand Theft Auto V will be coming to PC or will Rockstar stick to their guns and keep it as a console exclusive? Leave a comment below!
