With wordwide release dates usually falling on a Tuesday, video game retailers usually get all of their stock in the week before which, of course, leads to some gamers getting their hands on the games early. That has happened with Call of Duty: Ghosts, albeit a little too early, and as a result some information has leaked out surrounding player caps and mandatory downloads.
Spotted by Charlie Intel the below picture of what we’re believing is the official box art reveals that the Xbox 360 version of the game will require a mandatory 3GB download, which compared to the 7GB required by Grand Theft Auto, isn’t that bad. It’s recently come to light that PC players will need 40GB of space for the game so us 360 players can count ourselves lucky.
It’s also noted in the Xbox Live section on the back that the Xbox 360 and most likely PlayStation 3 version will only manage 12 players, which is a surprise because previous Call of Duty titles including the next-gen and PC versions of Ghosts will allow 18.
This presumably means that the 18-player Ground War game mode won’t be returning in Call of Duty: Ghosts, something that I’m pretty pleased about considering Ground War games were often filled with Host Migration pauses.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is scheduled to launch on Tuesday November 5 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, with the next-generation titles to launch along side the consoles.
