On October 15th Pokémon X and Y were released and with it came an evolution of how the game is played. I’m talking about Mega Evolution of course one of the brand new features for Pokémon X and Y which have now made their way into the Pokémon trading card collection.
Pokémon Trading Card Game: XY, which it has been named, will be the new series in the Pokémon card game franchise. A 10 card booster pack will be shipped to UK retail stores on February 2014 containing Pokémon: EX cards that will be able to evolve Pokémon like Blastoise and Venusaur into their Mega Evolution forms Blastoise EX and Venusaur EX, which are pretty powerful cards, because of this collectors and players will be able to change the style of their decks and their strategies to achieve victory.
It must be noted that those who hold Mega Evolution Pokémon in their hands must be cautious when playing them on the field. To do so would end your move, meaning you cannot strike the same turn. However, if you are willing to take the risk then prepare to reap the rewards as all Mega Evolution Pokémon are much stronger than most Pokémon cards, as they have hard hitting attacks and high HP making these cards the tank of your deck.
Among the booster packs are the starter set, Pokémon Trading Card Game: XY-Kalos Starter Set that also features the new fairy type, the only type to have any resistance to dark type Pokémon. The starter set is will be available November 8th 2014. It also helps that each booster pack and Kalos starter contains a code to unlock cards for the online game, Pokémon: TCG Online.
