Rally driver, Ken Block, has signed a deal with EA to advise on the Need For Speed series in a multi-year contract.
Is there a possibility that Need For Speed is heading towards a more rally style experience than the typical street racing fare we’ve seen for many years? It would be nice to see a change in setting for the blockbuster racing game and with Block on board, some serious offroad thrills would be more than welcome. This is great news for fans of Mr. Block’s over-the-edge driving.
Part of the deal seems to be that Need For Speed are sponsoring the Monster World Rally Team member and his Ford Fiesta ST 2013. His next Gymkhana viral will be shown on the NFS YouTube channel on November the 11th, about a week before the release of Need For Speed: Rivals.
What’s not mentioned is whether Ken will still be starring in Codemasters’ DiRT series in the near future.
Need For Speed: Rivals is ready for release on November the 19th (USA) and 22nd (EU) on PS3, Xbox 360 and will be available as a launch release for all next gen consoles.
