It’s been known for around a year or so that Nokia have been working on a tablet. The company has stayed pretty quiet about the hardware releasing a torrent of colourful Windows Phone smartphones. Finally however Nokia have bared all and have announced the Lumia 2520, a brand new 10-inch tablet which runs Windows RT, has LTE capabilities and will be priced at $499.
The Nokia Lumia 2520 is home to a 10-inch 1080p 650nit screen which is said to work wonders outdoors in the bright Abu Dhabi sunshine. So we won’t have any trouble seeing the screen here in the UK. Under the hood the 2520 packs a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU along side 2GB RAM. It comes with 32 GB internal memory with a micro SD card slot that supports up to 32GB, and of course SkyDrive cloud storage.
As it’s a Nokia Lumia device we’re to expect good things with the camera; the main of which is a 6.7MP Auto Focus cam with ZEISS optics and on the front it’s home to a 2-megapixel cam. There’s also four colour options too: red, cyan, white and black!
As you can see in the press shots below Nokia are also releasing the Nokia Power Keyboard. It offers a keyboard with a touchpad like you’d expect, and like the Touch Cover that you can get for the Surface Pro, this also wraps right round the tablet to offer complete protection. The Power Keyboard also contains an extra battery for up to five hours extra use, plus two USB ports, for whatever other accessories you wish to attach.
The Nokia Lumia 2520 will initially be available for sale in the US, UK and Finland with a current price-tag of $499.
